Jorge E. Vidal is an award-winning director, electrical engineer, audio engineer, videographer, social media manager and editor promoting the STEAM field through research, outreach and student impact.

In 2020, Jorge began working on the Energy & U science and engineering extravaganza that focuses on demonstrating the first law of thermodynamics through fun and exciting demonstrations. To date, Energy & U has engaged over 36,000 K-12 students & won a Lone-Star Emmy for the Spanish version of the TV production "La Energia y Tú".​

 

Since 2021, Jorge has been an STEAM  communicator and audiovisual producer creating content to promote the UTRGV College of Engineering & Computer Science (CECS). Through topics of research, outreach activities and student impact, his content has ~200,000 impressions per month on Instagram alone and has grown the CECS into the most followed and engaged college at the university. ​

 

Jorge was listed on the 2023 Marques Who's Who, won 15 Communicator Awards, won 3 Telly Awards, won the 2023 UTRGV Team Excellence Award, holds a US Patent and published peer reviewed journal publications.

 

Jorge is also an accomplished musician having played piano for over 15 years.
